Peaking at Pocono
With 6 races to go till the chase the IFRT drivers headed to Pocono to try to improve their position in the standings. Dennie Daniels had the top speed in practice with Dale Eisenbarth and Sam Crisp close behind. Jay Miller would get the pole by beating outside pole driver David Mott Jr. by almost a full tenth of a second. Dennie Daniels would start 3rd. Yet a new name top the speed charts in happy hour as Dale Eisenbarth led Jay Miller and Wayne Richardson. The race was marred by 13 cautions for 52 laps. A stat that had league officials very baffled as the guys had 2 weeks to get ready for this race. In between the cautions a handful of drivers kept their cars in contention all night long. The early favorite looked to be David Mott Jr as he led 18 of the early laps. Pit strategy would get him back in the field and he never recovered fully. This let Jay Miller take the top spot for the middle of the race leading 33 of those middle laps. Others to watch, that never really left the top pack, were Wayne Richardson, Dennie Daniels, Dale Eisenbarth and Jay Menard. But in the end Dale Eisenbarth was able to lead most of his race leading 36 laps when it mattered most. He would edge out Jay Miller and Dennie Daniels. Jay Menard and Robin Williams topped off the top 5. Jay Menard would be this weeks hard charger moving up 22 positions from his 26th starting spot. " This Str8 Motorsports team is back" yelled a jubilant Dale from victory lane. His Str8 Motorsports team leads the league with 5 wins but doesn't have to look to far over his shoulder as two YMI drivers have 3 wins (Jay Miller and Dale Charles) as does Fury Motorsports driver Sam Crisp. Dale and Jay appear to be a lock to make the chase as they sit 2nd and 3rd in the points. Sam Crisp is in 7th 186 points from the bubble 12th spot. Only Dale Charles, of the bunch, has to secure some good runs as he sits 9th in the point only 57 points from the bubble spot which is shared by Joshua Jenkins and Terry fines. Both sit 99 points ahead of David Mott Jr. Craig B ernstein, Jim Harper, Wayne Lundrigan and Wayne Richardson all have a chance yet to make the chase but will need some good runs in the next 5 races to get there. Other drivers in the top 12 at the moment are Robin Williams, the points leader, Dennie Daniels, Jay and Wade Menard, Todd Hitchcock and Jessie Rougeux. The guys head off to Watkins Glen next week. This track could very well make a big difference as some drivers eat up the road courses and some would rather puke on them. See who makes a move and will any one get closer to Dale Eisenbarth in race wins. See all the action Tuesday night at RLMtv.com at 8:40 EST !!!
